Fully Jarvis Bamboo: the desk we'd buy if it were $150 cheaper.
Almost identical to the Uplift on paper. Slightly worse in three small ways that ended up mattering.

FIG 01 · FULLY JARVIS, 3/4 VIEW
The desk in its native habitat — a 9 m² office in a converted dining alcove.
The verdict
A good desk, slightly out-positioned by the Uplift in every category that mattered to us.
The Jarvis is a Volkswagen to the Uplift's Audi — solid, reliable, slightly less refined. If the Uplift's premium is a dealbreaker, this is the desk to buy. Otherwise, spend the $50.
What we liked
Wide configuration options
Consistent build over years
Backlit keypad standard
What we didn't
More wobble at full height
Louder motors (48 dB)
Smaller cable tray
A close second. Almost identical on paper to the Uplift, but the small mechanical differences add up.
§ 01 — Motor noise
Six decibels louder than the Uplift. Enough to interrupt a video call in the next room.
§ 02 — Wobble
The standard frame lacks the Uplift Commercial’s cross-brace. Pro Plus frame adds it, but most people order the standard.
§ 03 — Where it wins
The default keypad is genuinely better than the Uplift’s. Backlit, larger digits, buttons feel like buttons.
